EASY-READER is a convenient and discrete ruler designed to assist those with visual stress or dyslexia. It highlights and isolates a line of text to make it easier to focus on those words and keep the the reader’s place on the page.
EASY-READER is a plastic strip 17cm x 5cm with a tinted window 160mm x 6mm which can be placed over a line of text to enable the reader to focus on the words without the distraction of the rest of the page. EASY-READER is matt black on one side and matt red on the other.
EASY-READER is available with the reading window tinted in four different colours, red, blue, yellow and green. Choose the one that works best for you!
In trials, students with dyslexia found that if they used EASY-READER they increased their reading speed by up to 70%!
EASY-READER was created and developed by a Young Enterprise company in Leicestershire to help anyone with dyslexia read more easily. Young Enterprise is a year-long programme run in schools whereby young students design a product or service and set up and run their own company to market it. EASY-READER was the creation of a team of Year-10 students from Orchard Mead (previously Hamilton) Academy in Leicester. Aged just 14/15 years this highly motivated team were the winners of the County Finals in Leicestershire in 2019 and went on to win many further awards.
At the end of their Young Enterprise Company programme year they passed on the product to Steps Conductive Education Centre.
